The other members of the PTA are made up from parents, governors and staff that attend the meetings and events.

What is it? What does it do?

Each school has a P.T.A. (Parent Teachers Association).  It is made up from  parents, grandparents, carers and teachers.  If your child/grandchild attends Livingstone Primary and Nursery School YOU are automatically members of the P.T.A.   We hold a very informal meeting once every couple of months to discuss fundraising events to be held throughout the year to raise much needed funds for school.

The monies raised from the P.T.A. events ie. Valentines/Halloween Disco, Teddy Tombolla, Duck Race, Pancake Flips etc go straight back into projects within school which benefit all the children.   We are working extremely hard to raise funding to provide the children with a playground which is fun and colourful, yet with the added bonus of being an environment where they can learn through play. We are in the process of having the playground markings re-painted together with some new ones, did you know that this is costing approximately £1200.00!  The new stage lighting in the hall, the playground wall games and climbing wall were paid for by the P.T.A. and the children’s end of year trips are heavily subsidised by the P.T.A. Unfortunately the school budget does not cover these things.

We are constantly looking for new ideas and would really really appreciate your views/comments.  You will find details of  the next meeting on the P.T.A. notice board in school.  Please do try and come along to this informal get together, your views/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We  need to stress that everyone’s continued support is needed to ensure that our fundraising events are successful and our children benefit.

Many Thanks
