‘Grow, Learn, Achieve Together’

To inform school of any COVID symptoms or test results, particularly over the weekend and holidays, please email covid@livingstone.tameside.sch.uk    Please keep school up to date as this will help us take prompt action.

On Tuesday 29 March, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid, set out the next steps for living with COVID-19 in England from Friday 1 April. Free testing for the general public ended on 1 April as part of the Living with Covid plan which last month set out the government’s strategy to live with and manage the virus.

The latest guidance from the Department of Education states :

· children with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days following the day on which they had a positive covid test result.

· children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend

If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason please contact the school office as soon as possible. The pandemic is not yet over and we must all still take the necessary steps to protect ourselves from respiratory illnesses, including Covid-19. Good hygiene measures will remain in place and we encourage all children and staff to take the usual steps to protect themselves and others from illnesses, such as regular handwashing/sanitisation, regular cleaning of work spaces and good ventilation.
