‘Grow, Learn, Achieve Together’

Our School Street

Since June 2025, our School Street has been in place to help keep children safe during the busiest times of the day. This means that Old Brow is closed to traffic past the junction with West Grove:

  • Morning: 8:30–9:00am

  • Afternoon: 2:45–3:30pm

We introduced this measure in partnership with Tameside Council to create a safer, calmer environment for families arriving at and leaving school.

The School Street has now been formally approved by Tameside and is a permanent part of our school community. Residents and blue badge holders may still access the road during closure times by showing their pass or badge.

We are always looking for volunteers to help monitor the School Street and support the road closure.

  • Full training is provided

  • Children can attend Little Stones for free while you are on duty

  • Just 30 minutes once a week can make a real difference

If you can spare a little time, we’d love to hear from you.

We continue to encourage children to travel to school in an active way — walking, scooting, or using park and stride. When pupils travel actively at least three times a week, they earn that month’s WOW badge, which many of our children love collecting.

Thanks to their efforts, we have even reached the Top 10 schools in Greater Manchester for walking to school.
